20th Annual Matthew T. McDermott Golf Tournament
Matthew T. McDermott ’89 loved the game of golf and cherished his time playing the sport at Eckerd College. Matt and his wife, Sue McDermott ’89, always envisioned helping to grow the Golf program at Eckerd. After Matt's tragic passing on September 11, 2001, in the attacks on the World Trade Center, his family and friends honored his love of golf by creating the annual Matthew T. McDermott Golf Tournament. All proceeds benefit the McDermott Scholarship program, which provides scholarship support to student-athletes on the Eckerd College Golf team. Sue and her three children, Kara, Kelly, and Matthew McDermott, appreciate your support in honoring the memory and spirit of Matthew T. McDermott.
